In 2 Samuel 1:1-2:7, we see why Jesus is a worthy King. He would rather die as God’s anointed than celebrate the death of his enemies. And Jesus rises to power not to end a vendetta against us but to invite those loyal to the powers of darkness into a new covenant with him.
